26-January-2012: PEQ-2A Vintage Program EQ V1.0.1
This update to the PEQ-2A now includes 32 and 64Bit linuxVST plugins, and the addition of Physical Control Weighting. This replicates the feel of high quality rotary controls, by adding a small amount of 'weight' to the GUI controls. It does not affect the control 'law' so the settings are completely compatible with previous versions, however the operational 'feel' of the controls is now much improved. In addition, the control weighting allows much greater precision for small adjustments, while still allowing wide ranging control movements when required. This is a free upgrade if you already have an activation key for the previous version. Download the update here.
14-January-2012: PEQ-2A Vintage Program EQ
Inspired by the Vintage Pultec EQs, the PEQ-2A closely models the classic sounds of the original units - Separate Boost and Attenuate controls allow simultaneous boost and cut at low frequencies to produce the famous Pultec sound. Available in LV2 format, with JACK and VST versions to be available as a free upgrade soon. Try the free demo here.
01-November-2011: MBC2B Multi-band compressor
The MBC2B is a development of the original MBC2 which adds channel solo switches, greater threshold range and innovative DSP algorithms to reduce CPU usage.
The channel solo switches enable each frequency band to be auditioned in isolation or in the context of other soloed channels, and also allow the MBC2B to be used as a versatile dynamic filter for deliberate effects - for example "Telephone Voice" etc.
The comprehensive manual included with the plugin describes setup and use of the compressor for a variety of tasks, including Dynamic EQ, Frequency Enhancer, Dynamic Filtering and De-essing. If you have previously purchased the MBC2, an upgrade to the MBC2B is available for a limited time.
01-October-2011: Native linuxVST support in Ardour3
linuxDSP has submitted code to the Ardour project to enable Ardour3 to support native linuxVST plugins. Not to be confused with Windows VSTs, linuxVST plugins are compiled specifically for linux, while using the VST format to interface to the host application.
A variety of plugins are available in this form, some from open source projects, and of course also the linuxDSP plugins. Though not yet a complete solution, this additional functionality is intended to provide the starting point for further work, increasing the range of plugins which Ardour can host in line with the other major DAW applications for linux, all of which currently have native linux VST support.
04-August-2011: VC2B Vintage Compressor
The VC2B Vintage Compressor is an evolution of the classic VC2. Built on the same DSP technology, but with improved side-chain processing to significantly reduce the CPU load. The VC2B also features switchable metering, for monitoring either the output level or gain reduction, and an optional digital meter readout. If you already have the VC2, an upgrade to the VC2B is available for a limited time.
17-July-2011: Updated linuxDSP Pro Channel plugins
The Pro-EQ, Dynamics and Gate plugins have been updated to V2.0.2. This is a free upgrade if you have already purchased the previous versions, either from this site or as part of the Harrison Mixbus bundle. This update makes some GUI improvements, while maintaining the original high quality processing. You can download the plugins here or read more about them in this article.
09-July-2011: SR-2B Stereo Reverb:
A development of the popular SR-2A, the 2B uses the same DSP algorithms but with some user interface improvements. If you have already purchased an activation key for the SR-2A, either form the linuxDSP website or as part of the Harrison Mixbus bundle, this will also be valid for the SR-2B.
