VC2B Overview:

A versatile vintage compressor, the VC2B combines a soft-knee compression characteristic with a gentle valve overdrive at high output levels, to provide flexible yet precise dynamics control.
Innovative side-chain processing reduces CPU load without loss of accuracy.

The download contains mono and stereo versions in JACK, LV2 and linuxVST (32 and 64Bit).

System Requirements:
  • A PC running the linux operating system.
  • An LV2 or linuxVST compatible host application.

• 'Soft Knee' Compression   Gradual gain transition at the threshold point.
• Vintage Sound   Gradual valve (tube) style saturation when overdriven.
• Reduced CPU usage   Innovative side-chain processing reduces CPU load.
• Switchable Metering   Monitor gain reduction or output level - or double click the meter display for accurate digital readout.
• Improved Meter Range   The meter range has been reduced compared to the original VC2, providing an improved display in the most commonly used gain reduction ranges.
• Physical Control Weighting   Replicates the 'feel' of high quality rotary controls and enhances precision for small control moves.
• Automatic GUI upscaling   Based on system DPI settings, GUI scaling can also be overridden by setting the LINUXDSP_DPI environment variable. Enhances compatibility with different screen resolutions.

 

Installation:

The download includes self-contained installer executables for the LV2 and VST and JACK plugins. Refer to section 2 of the manual for detailed information about installation.
If installing using the Ubuntu .deb installer files, be sure to remove any previous versions first, using the system package manager.
