Overview:
Similar in operation to the classic dbx902 hardware de-esser, the DSR500 is designed to remove excessively sibilant sounds from vocal tracks. While the detector frequency and range are fully adjustable, the threshold is set automatically by monitoring the relative levels of normal and sibilant sounds. This means there is no need to re-adjust the de-esser if the level of the processed material changes. The DSR500 is mono only in LV2 format (32 and 64Bit) System Requirements:

| Features: | |||
| • | Full-bandwidth and HF-only modes | Process either the full bandwidth signal for normal de-essing or only the HF for removing clicks or string noise from acoustic material. | |
| • | Relative threshold detector | By measuring the relative levels of normal and sibilant sounds, the detector threshold automatically adjusts to level changes. | |
| • | Auto upscaling GUI | Based on system dpi settings, or manually configurable via environment-variable settings, the UI scales automatically to improve usability on small / hi-resolution screens. | |
| • | Physical Control Weighting | UI controls are 'weighted' to feel similar to high quality hardware rotary controls, also enhancing precision for small control movements. | |
| • | Preliminary LV2 1.0.0 X11UI support | Built in support for X11UI extensions to the LV2 standard. | |
